5 BIBLE VERSES FOR CHRISTIAN ENTREPRENEURS

In the world right now, there are thousands, if not millions, of business and self-help books. These books give advice on how to build your business or stay more productive. One book that does not get enough praise for this is the Bible.

We've been running FINDGOD for nearly two years now, and over the journey, there have been some key verses that have spoken to us. I believe all Christian entrepreneurs and business people need to grab hold of these.

    1. Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.

In this verse, the first verb, "commit," is a word that, in Hebrew, means "to roll." The idea is that we completely give something over to God, depending on Him.

As entrepreneurs, we must commit it all to Him. We must roll it to Him and allow Him to guide us. Start praying and asking Him for the ideas, for the plans, for the team, with confidence that He will establish your thoughts.

    2. Daniel 2:21 - He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

This verse speaks of an overarching understanding that is crucial to life and, in this context, you and your business. That understanding is that God is God.

God is the one who allows us to succeed, to walk, to breathe, to think - it's all God. We have to be content with the fact that God is in control, and His way is perfect. Whatever His will is, whether we achieve what we set out for or not, His will is good.

    3. Colossians 3:23-24 - And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

A classic verse that needs to be used in all areas of life is that we are working for God. We are always tempted to work just as hard as we have to, thinking we only have to please man. But God wants every worker to see that ultimately, they work for Him. Therefore, they should do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. God promises to reward those who work with that kind of heart.

In a more entrepreneurial mindset, this looks like going beyond and above what the world sets as the standard; providing customer service like you're representing Christ, treating every customer the way God treats us, and making sure tactics are in line with His will.

    4. Proverbs 10:4 - Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.

This verse explains itself really. As an entrepreneur, you're going to have to work. It won't come easy, and you shouldn't expect it to. Seek the Lord, ask Him to show you the vision and the plan - then get stuck in!

    5. 1 Peter 4:10 - Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

This Bible verse promises that you have a gift and that you should be using that gift to serve others because we are faithful stewards of God's grace. We are so blessed to receive God's grace! We are so grateful and blessed to get His grace every day! The least we can do is show up in our gifting and bless people.

Remember, your business isn't about you, nor is it about money or even about growth. As a Christian entrepreneur, your business is about how you can show up today in your God-given gifting and serve.

I pray these verses encourage you to seek Him in what you do and to commit it all to Him.
